Keratin bonds are sensitive to moisture and mechanical stress, so the hair must be completely dry before bed. Going to sleep with damp hair can easily lead to tangles by morning and may increase unnecessary pressure around the attachment points. That’s why sleeping with hair extensions always includes taking a few extra minutes to dry the hair thoroughly using a gentle heat setting.
The first night after the appointment is often the adjustment period. At this stage, the bonds have not yet fully settled, and your scalp is adapting to the new placement and weight of the extension strands.
Some clients may notice mild discomfort during the first night. However, sleeping with hair extensions hurts should not be considered normal. If any pain occurs, it is worth checking whether the bonds have been fitted too tightly. In most cases, gathering the hair into a low ponytail or a loose braid is enough to improve comfort.
